Mateo’s smile curves around the rim of his glass like something made to be stolen, and Vesper watches him with a tilt of his head, equal parts interest and appraisal. The slight lean across the table doesn’t go unnoticed. Neither does the small packet that appears between them, quiet as a secret but just as loud in implication.
Vesper doesn’t reach for it right away. He lets it sit there for a beat, letting the air between them thrum with potential, his gaze lingering on the packet before drifting lazily back to Mateo. "Pretty lights are nice," he drawls, voice low and laced with that familiar, velvet-edged smirk. "But I didn’t come all this way for the view." Pausing, he reconsiders. "Not that view, anyway."
His boot nudges lightly against Mateo’s under the table. "So. What’s the proper ritual, then? Tongue, nose, smoke, or somethin' else?" Vesper wonders, grin sharpening. "I ain't ever tried it, but if it’s your idea of a good night, I’m inclined to trust your taste."
