Pierce
They arrive, and with it a sudden sentinel that appears that immediately has Pierce’s teeth on edge. But he’d come here for a good time, not to make an example of anyone.. yet, but Zavien’s actions don’t go unnoticed as he pretends to not let it bother him for the time being to get the show on the road.

The first to step up the plate has almost all of Pierce’s attention for the span of time she’s there – his gaze lingering on Thalassa. “You know, I think I could come up with something just for you.” His baritone voice hums suggestively toward her, recalling their tryst from what felt like forever ago. It’s there for a moment before it passes, handing her the hammer and stepping back to watch as she steps up to play. The hammer lifts, hesitates for a split second, before crashing down with a thundering slam against the metal weight. The weight bounces up, shooting toward the coveted bell, but stops short, hovering there before it crashes back down along its track. The rumble of a laugh from Pierce is charmed as it is playful. “That’s a lot to go up against.” He calls to the crowd but flashes Thalassa a wink as he takes the hammer from her.

Handing it to miss rainbows herself, Nova, Pierce watches with amusement as she seems to look like she’s having the sugar high of her life. Who’s he to judge? She steps up to strike the metal plate as well, and it shoots up and up before falling short of Thalassa’s number, but only just. And Pierce has a moment of surprise that flickers across his face as he chuckles to see how well she’d done. “Not bad, not bad.

Next up is Mr. Shadowy Silence himself, though, at odds with the sugar high before him in line. Handing the hammer to Vesper next, Pierce steps back to watch with his arms crossed as the young man strikes the hammer down onto the plate. It shoots up like a star with a surprising amount of speed and intensity, enough that even Pierce’s brows lift slightly – watching as it slams into the bell with a resounding prrrring!Well damn, that's pretty good.” Which of course means Vesper has his attention, whether he wants it or not.

The hammer, taken from the crowning winner so far, goes to Noe next – and to her a warmer smile is offered, along with a low hum of good luck. As she steps up and takes her own swing, it doesn’t quite have the gusto that Vesper’s or the ones before him had, but it still isn’t too bad of an attempt. It falls short of Nova’s attempt by a few inches. “Ah, better luck next time huh?” The baritone voice rumbles out, taking the hammer from her and handing it to the next in line.

Which means as Koa comes up to the game, he’d find nothing amiss with the game itself. He grabs the hammer, a perfectly normal weight, and when he goes to slam it down? Well, perhaps this is when the luck of the start begins to fall. While looking stronger than some of the others in attendance, Koa’s attempt falls just below his sister’s. “Promise it’s not rigged.” He touts to the dragoon with a smirk before collecting the hammer to hand it off.

The next to step up is a willowy looking girl, and honestly Pierce doesn’t have high hopes for Calypso’s attempt – though he could be wrong, given the way he’d been wrong about Nova, but he flashes her a smile and a nod to take her attempt and watches as her thin arms lift and drop, striking with the hammer in quite a sad attempt. It falls far shorter than Koa’s, hardly making it off the weighted portion itself. “Oooof, that’s tough.” There might be a low undercurrent of sympathy, purely for show as he takes the hammer from her and hands it to the last participant.

As Kaisel steps up to the game, Pierce takes a moment to focus on whether or not the machine itself is bugging out with how even this has been (it’s not, it’s the rolls), but he steps back when he gestures for Kaisel to continue. As the young man slams the hammer down, it shoots up past Calypso’s attempt and stops just short of Koa’s attempt. All in all, not too bad. "Close!"

Collecting the hammer, he regards the crowd with a bright grin. “Don’t worry about the prizes right now. It’s a best of three where each gets harder and harder.” Should he have said that before everyone stepped up? Maybe. Does he care? Not at all. “This time, we’re switchin’ up the hammer.” Tossing the one they’d used somewhere behind him (and listening as it crashes into a metal bin), he doesn’t turn to look as he instead reaches into a box to pluck a rather unique instrument from it. This one’s unique in that while it looks like a usual hammer and can likely be held like one, the interior is almost wobbly, like something’s trapped inside trying to break its way out.

Step up for round two.” He says, ready to hand it to the next in line once he’s acknowledged the sentinel in the back. “And hey, y’know, it’s just a game. We don’t need a babysitter. Either play or get out.” He calls to Zavien, giving him a final choice in whether he wants to join in or lose out.

The winner of Round 1 goes to Vesper !
Zavien has the choice of joining the game or leaving before something happens.

Round 2: The hammer this time has something inside of it that’s erratic (you probably don’t want to know what). Try to reach the bell this time!

You have 48 hours, no post order.
