Koa's voice beside her made her jump. She hadn't been expecting to see him back in Stormbreak any time soon, at least not without Jude having written that he'd been able to talk some sense into the Dragoon. She glanced at him sidelong, her lips pursed as though considering. After a moment, as they waited their turn to play, she spoke. "Hey," she said. "Long time, no see." A pause, and then: "Can we talk after?"

When she stepped up to play, she returned Pierce's smile and made her attempt; it wasn't bad, and she sashayed back into the crowd with a grin. She felt a little thrill when Koa's attempt fell short of hers. "Off day?" she asked wickedly, her eyes sparking with a familiar mischief. Then she waited her turn for round two.
