He does often try to balance it out with Danta – finding that rather than being wholly decisive of his decisions that ever since he and the Maverick had gotten close, that he’s swayed some of it in order to either push more adoration onto the other man or to merely be a pain in the ass. Like how he blankets him and is both charming and comfortable as a blanket, but obnoxious in the way he indulges his lover with kisses to map out his face.
“I would be happy to carry the birthday boy.” He teases softly in between pressing another soft kiss to his cheek. But the answer is the same as Danta’s tail winds around his leg and Asta drops, pressing against Danta more as he lets the weight of his body press against him as he winds his arms around him.
It doesn’t matter either way, and so when he feels Danta nuzzle in quite obnoxiously, the butcher chuckles a deep and delightful sound that breaks into an appreciative sigh with the fingers that thread through his hair. It works, like a dog being pet in just the precise way to draw them toward exhaustion when they wanted nothing more than to run and chase their tail. “That sounds lovely, Danta.” He hums, tucking his face in against Danta’s neck to press a series of kisses there as the Maverick’s hands continue to run through his dark hair, dragging him very promptly under the call of sleep, curled and wrapped around his lover quite contently.
