Or, I have a general idea but I think I’m being pulled two ways and I don’t know which is calling me more.” Or which is ‘right’, if there is ever a right way to follow your heart. Not when neither offers a sense or requirement of duty or obligation. “So I would be worried about - I don’t know, getting your hopes up or you having an opinion towards one or the other and then I don’t pick it?” Or if his preference sways her, because she loves him so much that she’d want to give more weight to whichever he’d seem to prefer. “I think I just need more hemming and hawing time.” Her shoulders shiver with quiet laughter.
“My own plans and life desires aren’t exactly world-changing let’s be honest. But what about Halo - it’s about time to consider the season’s goals, right? It would be nice to make a decisive choice on something today with all these grey-area things we’re both going through.” It would give her something to mark off without an endless, uncertain horizon of potentially days or weeks or entire seasons of trying to figure out something you can only know the end of by finally feeling it. Just as with Deimos and Noah only figuring out the new shape of their relationship by feeling it out day by day with no end goal in sight.
