It has been a long time since Mateo had come to this shrine to make his request of Frey. He knows this is long overdue, but he also knows why it's that way, hoping the deity will understand. Delayed gratification leads to prolonged pleasure or so they say, right?
Still nervous to be approaching a herald, despite having done it once already (and knowing, arguably, a lot more about what to expect this time around), Mateo nonetheless strolls through the fragrant water gardens and beneath the boughs of flowering trees to the statue of Frey. Carefully, he sets down his offerings - a small jug of thick cream, a bowl of ripe cherries, a split pomegranate with the jewelled seeds glistening in the twilight.
Stepping back, he then carefully removes his clothes, draping them over a nearby bench until he stands naked before the shrine.
"Frey," he says softly, sinking to his knees with his hands palm up, "I have completed the tasks you set for me. I know it has taken some time, but for a while Everest was... altered. Now, though, I think he needs this more than ever before."
