Liam couldn't imagine being the kinder equivalent of the grim reaper. Even if Remi's job had been to take lives out of kindness, to do so as gently as possible... that sort of work had to leave a stain on one's soul. The soldier wasn't sure he could do it. He already hated the idea of killing - ironic, given his line of work - but to be faced with that day in and day out, whether in peace or wartime...
But being Mort's, it seemed, was different - and in a positive way. Liam wasn't entirely sure that he understood Remi's role, but if it brought the man peace, then the soldier could only assume that it was worthwhile. "It sounds like a big improvement, if I'm being honest." Was that terrible to say? Would Ludo smite him for it? Hoping that perhaps the herald had other things to worry about just now, Liam shook his head. "Thank you for humoring me. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. I grew up in Stormbreak, so I like to think I'm as pious as the next, but there's something about hearing real experiences with the gods that just... I don't know. Makes it all make more sense."
