Sipping at her tea as she lets thought and memory settle like ripples in a still pond, Isla tilts her head to consider Maea's point about their shifting. "Mm, I imagine a lot of Attuned would agree with you," she says, offering her a small smile. "Perhaps something for your therapist friend to explore in more detail? I know that some of us - Attuned, Ancients, hybrids, even demigods - retain some of our instincts from our more dominant shifts. I've never really noticed it in myself, but I know Ronin suffers quite badly, for example. It would probably be even more difficult for them, if they stayed shifted for too long."
Carefully slipping off her sandals, Isla tucks her feet beneath herself in her chair, settling in for their conversation and hoping Maea feels comfortable enough to do the same. "Having been a companion, I can confirm it's the case," she says with a quick flash of teeth. "Though I imagine Remi would argue I was always quietly sassy as a unicorn."
But then it's back to her resurrection, and Isla gives the question due consideration. "Well," she says, "I was an Ascended when I died the first time, so from that perspective it was quite easy to adjust. And I'd had enough time in Mort's Halls to come to terms with myself, my soul, my body and so on. So I was just... overjoyed, if I'm honest. I could go and reconnect with all those who had missed me when I was gone."
