He listened, quietly curious as to how the self-possessed young man, with his restless shadow and too-knowing eyes, would answer, and not simply because Safrin had tasked it of him. Though his expression did not change there was a flicker of what might have been relief in his thoughts at hearing such a sensible answer. There was pride there, in the young man's choice of words, but also the wisdom to recognize his current strength, and none of the bravado of Safrin's other son. Not, at least, in this.
Hadama inclined his head in acceptance of Vesper's response, though there was a gleam of bemusement in the wash of his thoughts at the small barbs beneath the other demigod's tongue, a rasp like sharkskin rubbed the wrong way. "I was not aware that my forgiveness was required." His low rumble was as solemn as his expression, but there was a hint of subtle humor in the troughs of his words alongside the implied acknowledgment in them.
"And I am not surprised. There is no... 'how-to' guide to being a demigod that I have found. either. Neither born nor made. Each of us is different." He inclined his head towards the shadows at Vesper's feet. He knew well that their powers grew in different ways. At different speeds. "And not all abilities are suited for battle." Seren's had not been, but that had not made her less loved or less important to those who had known her. "Some demigods have brought hope. Others seek information. There are many paths. And they may change over time."
He offered the young man a slight bow of apology for what seemed to have been a misunderstanding. "Thank you for your answers. Is there a place you wish me to take you?"
