And so rather than grabbing at the bait she tosses out under the guise of a silent oh yeah?, he keeps his mind on the shrinking island behind them, on the possibility that there's at least one corpse laying under the rubble of a collapsed tunnel.

"In retrospect, prob'ly somethin' that would've been worth figurin' out at the start of our little adventure down there," he mutters, letting the wind blow through his hair and fill his lungs with the scent of salt and sea and not old, damp earth. "Could be worse for Remi," he supposes. "Might've been you down there or somethin'. You're more'n capable - not that I blame you for not volunteerin'."

But then Flora's eyes are on him in a way that simultaneously makes him uncomfortable and also keen to ask her to follow every glance up with her hands, and Jack shrugs - both in reply, and to get out of his Kingmaker Coat. "I am, oddly enough. Got out with a couple bruises but that's it," he says, meaning it enough that her truth ring will be able to confirm it. "Largely thanks to this an' whatever power Hadama's got. Needs repairin' now though." he examines the back of the coat with a wrinkled nose.
