He leans forward just enough to ghost his lips near Ronin’s jaw without quite touching, voice dipping lower with every word. "Let’s not forget who kissed who first and completely upended my life trajectory. Or who came home looking entirely too handsome with a concussion, forcing me to propose before I had time to think better of it."

At the offer to walk away, Remi opens his mouth like he might just take Ronin up on it. But the moment stretches, his eyes lock with his husband’s, and the heat building in his stomach burns too brightly for any sort of theatrics. The corners of his mouth twitch upward as if to say nice try, and then he's pulling Ronin flush against him once more, stealing another kiss that’s more breath than motion.

His hand slips beneath the Knight’s shirt, palm warm and sure against the small of Ronin’s back, spreading that familiar pulse of golden affection in all directions, like starbursts flaring outward from the centre of his being.
