Her lips grazed his collarbone, and her breath hitched with pleasure as he rolled his hips against hers. Onward up his neck she kissed, pausing to nip at the sensitive skin beneath his jaw. His fingers inched closer to her core, and she tightened her legs around him, pressing more tightly against him, silently urging him on. But then there was a pause, a moment where her words got too serious, too real, and she could practically feel Koa freeze up.
There was a a momentary pang of disappointment, of frustration that all the pent up desire between them was being thwarted, but she quickly tamped down on those emotions. She was still in his arms, pressed against the door. He was still holding her, one hand coming up to graze her cheek. She could still feel his erection pressing against her. Perhaps he was hesitating, but that didn’t mean he was denying her.

”There’s nothing wrong with you,” she countered softly, still cradling his face in her hands. His forehead leaned against hers, and she nudged her nose against his. ”You’re good,” she murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to one side of his lips. ”And chivalrous.” She added a kiss to the other side. ”And you want to do the right thing.” Her lips ghosted across his; not quite a kiss, but a taunting, teasing, yearning for more.
Her lips brushed against his with each word as she asked, ”Why do you get to decide what I deserve?’ Her thumbs caressed his cheeks before one hand lifted to run through his hair. ”Isn’t that my decision to make?” Her heart, to give as she pleased? Her body, to do with as she desired?
”Koa, you are what I want. You, the way you are, right now. And you know that I want you for more than just tonight, but even if this is all we have - I could never regret you.” She kept his gaze, searching his eyes for understanding. ”You know what I do regret? All the time we could have had, but didn’t. I don’t want to make the same mistake twice.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulled him in close. ”I want you, Koa Carpenter. This is Caido. Anything could happen, to either of us. And if I died tomorrow, I’d want to go with the taste of you on my lips.”
