Nova
when fears are grounded,
Proudly puffing her chest, she's long forgotten the threat of the vines in exchange for the new excitement taking flight in her chest. Really?! I want to see! She hops towards one of the streams, the water just clear enough for her to see the bright array of plumage that sprouts from her wings. And she has wings! Chirping, she raises them one after the other, inspecting them from all sides. Look at how many colors there are! Once she's spread them all out, she flaps them gently, feeling the wind catch in the soft fibers. Her joy is weightless and full of light when she looks up at Caly. This means I can fly!
Without much of a thought to how, Nova flaps her wings, the six separate appendages moving in such asynchrony that some might have thought they were a bundle of different birds rather than one. Feathers ruffle and catch portions of air, but she doesn't make it more than a few inches off the ground, landing in a colorful heap on her side when two of them knock together.
There's a moment of surprise followed by annoyance as she rights herself on the ground, looking at her wings like they are the problem. Disappointment flows down the bond, a mental pout at the results. It's... harder than it looks.
