you are terrifying and strange and beautiful
Having been - yes - about to launch his own attack on a wisp (and that's guaranteed to end well for someone with Ronin's track record), the Knight is a prime target for racoonery and shenanigans. Indeed, the Knight is so invested in his not-husband that when the real thing comes hurtling down from the branches, it's with a very manly thank you yelp into the trees that Ronin receives him. "Wh-- REMI," he announces, blind and staggering to the side as a furry weight risks giving him whiplash, and clever fingers prod at his face.
"The bandit king is a filthy cheater-- and I have been betrayed by my own dragon," Ronin realises with a gasp of outrage. In response, Sugar of course chitters gleefully overhead, as if trying to give Remi pointers where he can clamber up among the branches and then leap to another tree to escape.
Scrambling as the racoon attempts to escape the convenient perch of his head, Ronin swipes nothing but empty air and, honour bound as he is by his own rules, he decides to pursue the furry criminal using his own hands and feet. "When I do catch you," he calls, laughing, "you are in so much trouble."
