And he appreciates the other man giving him the time and space to do it, such that when he's finally directed up and into a kiss, the Maverick goes willingly.
"I did not imagine you as being quite so spontaneous. I must be rubbing off on you," he mumbles against his lips, taking a deep breath and letting it out again to allow Asta to continue his fuss. "I'm glad you're alright. I would have gone too, you know, but I get it, if you wanted to let loose."

They haven't spoken much about that night since their agreement to go slow, and while Danta is able to tolerate Asta's mischievous shadows now, and he no longer asks him to check rooms before they walk inside, it's not the same as being able to full be, and the Maverick knows it.
