Erebos' cooing desire for attention and affection is more direct than Deimos', but she can read it all the same in the way he tilts his head into her kiss and then tilts again to kiss her in truth. The tired slope of his shoulders, the waiting tea, the soft smile that forms when she comes to his side. Less of a spoken bid like their son and more of a natural blooming at its reception, but they are all fueled by each other at the end of the day. And as much as Evie would love to squander these necessary plans she doesn't want the shadow to follow them, tonight or any subsequent ones.

Taking the tea with a long, trailing hum of appreciation that only continues as she indulges in it immediately, Evie chortles around her mouthful as Deimos pulls her into his lap. Thankfully they are both steady-handed enough to not worry over spilled tea as all of it remains in its vessel. Evie arranges her legs more comfortably to hang crossed over the side of one of his thighs and uses the improved angle to look down at the papers on the table. One hand cups her tea while the other arm extends to twirl Erebos' hair around her fingertips.

"We're improving the region frequently in other ways, so it usually comes down to our forces or resources." She's too tired to snort over the unintentional rhyme but her lips twitch anyway."With current affairs...personally, I'd rather invest in our soldiers." Magic and items were always helpful, but only truly useful if the person wielding it remained alive. Having more bodies to respond to a threat would never cease to be helpful in comparison, whether they were armed with magical tools or not.
