Noe was growing tired of the hunt, but she couldn't bring herself to give it up. Not when Sohalia was trying so hard. By now, the girl was familiar with the story of how Soh had come by her first rose, the tasks she'd had to complete for Vi and the toll it had taken on the Luminary. And that had been for Noe, who didn't even like her. This time, she was searching for an actual friend.
We'll just ignore that we all know that Soh did it for Koa.
But regardless, Noe traipsed along in Soh's wake, scanning for any sign of a rose, which she'd been told would show up in colors of crimson and gold. They'd elected to search the Observatory today, and it was arguably the worst hunt yet. It hadn't been so bad until they'd started clambering up stairs. Now Noe was forced to see just how out of shape she was.
"Why are we searching the top?" she panted as they crested the final stairs. "Won't a rose be growing out of, you know, soil?"
