Her eyes narrowed perceptively, arms behind her back in her own innocent pretenses, a sharpened glance delivered to him at that initial inquiry. Thereafter though, as the Fae world opened before them again, and he acquiesced, her head tilted vaguely, as if she could be conspiring about anything and everything, a smile dimpling her cheek as she glanced back at him.
Melita had always been a covetous, avaricious, greedy little thing. It’d probably started from clawing her way, tooth and nail, towards survival, and hadn’t really stopped since. So what did she want? Him. The Family to be wiped out, exterminated, gone. Power, magic, the means to ensure she and those she cherished were never hurt again. And probably some fries. “Ooh, what about a burger? And fries to split?”
Then she bounded away, saluting at his choice, eyes intent on multiple prizes. Hearing his own request made her motives easier, and maybe the task a little more difficult. The drinks line was absurdly line, and she easily blended into the crowd, manifesting herself into invisibility within a moment’s notice. Now – it would all come down to timing. She’d have to slip things into his pockets before he came back, and have the drinks. It’d require a delicate balance, a careful finesse – many things Melita wasn’t.
Which meant she double-backed – bending and melding her way through and around people as easy as breathing, well-practiced and versed, waiting for him to get into the opportune moment in line.
