He flashes a thumbs up behind him as her order rings out. Fisting his hands in his pockets, he lumbers towards the marked stand, slouching into the wait with one leg crossed behind the other. He drags through the time they just had together, picking apart moments into smaller bits, turning over the different choices he could have made there, in the hopes it'll keep him from doing the same going forward.
He glances over his shoulder every so often towards the way she went. Although he'd lost sight of her to the crowd a bit ago, he's hoping to see her anew, always brightened and eased by it. Not to mention ever since saying lemonade, he's suddenly and horribly thirsty. As he thinks, one hand slips from his pocket and rubs idly through the back of his hair. He stiffens when he feels something tangled there, and carefully his other hand lifts, fingertips threading through the ends curiously. It slips away behind other hair every so often, but her finally snags it between two fingers and pulls. It yanks the hair with it and he winces, his body jerking slightly in response. "Is this fucking sap?" he mutters under his breath as he turns the sticky glob over in his hand, coated in hair and leaving a lingering residue behind on his hands where it touches.
He snorts and flicks it off his hand with a quick back and forth wiggle. All the while he's mindful of inching forward along with the line, the smell of burgers and fries wafting by. Languidly he leans more onto one leg, and he slips his hand back into his pocket on the opposing side.
