Lena was once more surprised to see she’d even hit Noe for a second time – eyes still widened and mind still bothered – when the Accepted came again. Reeling and hoping for a second evasion attempt, she shifted to the right, dashing, intending to get out of the way.
Which only partially worked in the end, as Noe’s fist glazed and glanced off the side of her arm with some impact, leaving her eyes watering and a hiss echoing from her lungs. Balancing out her weight, she figured she’d take one last plunge, and while her arm was affected (perhaps even slower now), she’d make do with what she had, striving to counter with another raised fist to the younger woman’s ribs.
