Maea
Stars, hide your fires
She lingered in the grass and watched the dragon shrink against the far horizon, the thunder of his wings soon a distant rumble - like an echo of a storm that never broke. Maea had expected to feel a certain way over seeing him leave, but just like with the other surprises this encounter brought on, all she was left with was a sense of peace. It had been a long time coming, but it seemed she was well and truly over the Flood. Finally, after nearly a decade of heartache, jealousy, denial and backtracking, this was a chapter to close and leave where it belonged. Liberated from any and all sense of obligation, attachment and trauma, it opened up a new vista of opportunities that she hadn't considered possible for so many years.
When she slowly gathered herself and began to rise, it was with a renewed determination. Not only did she look forward to reaching her destination, but also to turn her attention onto new challenges. Sure, she still had much to work on - but perhaps her internal conflicts didn't have to remain front and center anymore. This had been a worthwhile conversation - and as the hunt was taken care of and her emotions challenged, she shifted her body into the white crow, and winged her way off into the mist.

Let not light see my black and deep desires
