It's the silence above all that has Danta raising a slow eyebrow, his thumb brushing again across Asta's cheek in a gentle stroke, as if to bring him back from wherever he might have gone. When he does finally speak, the abrupt No is so at odds with the butcher's usually flowery way of speaking that the Maverick can't not let out a quiet laugh, though it soon fades as Asta presses more steadily into his space.
And he's serious about it, the Maverick realises, his amusement warping into something contemplative, something that wants to be concerned but can't find the heart to be, not with Asta stretched across him as happy(?) and healthy as he's ever been. "Alright," he says, his voice pitched low and steady, his fingers tangling loosely in Asta's hair. "We'll stay right here then, just you and me."
With the hope that whatever strangeness that has possessed his lover has burned itself out of his system by tomorrow, Danta leans in and simultaneously draws Asta up for a kiss to seal the deal. It doesn't feel like an argument, exactly, but he certainly feels as if he's somehow upset the other man, and he's understandably keen to make up for it.
