Alys
Alys's magic seemed to do the trick, and she moved Beans along behind the herd as they drove them in the right direction. Perhaps it would have been more accurate to say that Beans moved her along - after all, she did very little of the actual work, with her gelding taking care of her more than once as they went on their way.
By the time dusk started to fall, Alys was tired and hungry and perhaps a little grumpy due to her aching backside, but nevertheless she was ready to help her fellow wranglers. Since she didn't have fire magic or a companion who could breath fire, the seer opted to gather the bedrolls, laying them out neatly before joining the rest of the group around what would hopefully be a crackling campfire.
Now it was time for campfire stories, of which Alys knew exactly zero. She did, however, know a fair bit of folklore and a few fables, so she opted for one of those instead. "One day, a lion was sound asleep, his great head resting on his paws. A timid little mouse came upon him, and in her fright and haste to get away, accidentally roused the lion from his nap. Angry at being woken, the lion laid his great paw on the little mouse to kill her.
'Spare me!' begged the mouse. 'Please let me go, and someday I will repay you!'
The lion was amused to think that a tiny mouse could ever help him, but he was feeling generous and finally let the mouse go.
Some days later, while stalking prey, the lion was caught in a hunter's net. Unable to free himself, he roared furiously, struggling against his binds. Recognizing the voice of the lion, the mouse quickly came to help. Running to one of the ropes that bound him, she gnawed it until it frayed, and soon the lion was free.
'You laughed when I said I would repay you,' said the mouse. 'Now you see that even a mouse can help a Lion.'"
