The thing was, she made sense - and even if he knew he was no threat, he had no way of proving it to Flora. "The Family never asked anything of me," he told her, eyeing the daggers on her belt. "I swear to you, you are in no danger from me."
Not that it mattered what he had to say - and why should it, when she'd died at the Family's hand? Even to Liam, through the violet-tinged haze of his thoughts, couldn't quite reconcile this woman with the one the Family had sought to silence. "And even if you were," he added. "I'm not sure I could best you." Not with those daggers, anyway, not to mention the myriad other tricks she likely had up her sleeve.
"But I'll just go," Liam offered, pushing off the tree and making to do just that. "See you around, Flora."
