The battle raged on, but Alys couldn't move - not until Vesper was healed. As the corrupted colt lunged for her, she braced herself for impact - only to feel nothing hit. Glancing down, she realized that Vesper had cloaked her in shadows that had deflected the colt's attack. Shooting the demigod a grateful look, she released him, turning her attention to the colt that seemed to have set its sights on Vesper once more.
With the colt so close, and the remaining mares on the attack, Alys's options were limited. "I'm going to try to confuse them!" she shouted. Then, summoning her illusion magic, she tried to create duplicates of the human fighters, which would stay near their real counterparts and mimic their motions accordingly. If it worked,Hadama, Astaroth, and Vesper would find themselves with a very real illusion fighting alongside them, and while the illusions couldn't hit anything, they could certainly serve as targets.
