Thal does her best to give a smile, although it's not her characteristically sharp grin, more of a pursed curve of her lips that serves as a 'polite' greeting. It's nice to be warmly received despite recent events, but it doesn't make her any more inclined to mention the real reason she's struggling, knowing that few people liked Pierce or would sympathize with his departure.
