Like some child possessed, the beast howls in my veins
The satisfaction, and the smirk that followed, was short-lived. The other bear remained, and maybe if she’d been fast enough, she could’ve shot two arrows instead of grandstanding with one. Perhaps that was neither here nor there, but something kept in the back of her mind as she watched Iskra go to lay waste again, not far behind. “I’m going invisible!” She shouted, intentions to be distracting and needling, while possessing all the flair of prowess and power – just that this bear wouldn’t be able to figure out where it was all coming from.
Nor did she want Iskra to be the main target, so she meandered towards the right, giving a show of moving rocks pummeling and rolling down the crag. Snagging at another in her quiver, she went for lightning this time too – a little shared display of the element while striving to more forward and ahead with its sparks and derision. These ones weren’t going to maul and murder her – they were hers.
The first shot missed, skimming just above the roaring bear’s head, but it’d be enough to cause its nasty little features in her direction (or would – had it been able to see her – for now it just looked around in confusion). Her second one though sat and anchored right into its paw, and the sizzling, crackling sounds were music to her ears.
