“Ah, yes. Because the work is never over.” Asta drawls, but the slant to his sharp grin is bright and warm in spite of it. Danta had done a phenomenal job when it came to the exposure to his haunt so the least he can do is try while he feels so off. At least it was better than dealing with the crows, before he had the bracelet that still sits comfortably on his wrist. It’s a small mercy.

But, the food is warm and inviting, the wine pairing well with the richness and earthiness that combines with the sweet taste of the lamb alongside the spice of his gumbo, and while they share the butcher leans back a little contently to let his lover take however many bites he wants. Taking just a few, the butcher returns to it in comfortable silence — proof of a good meal, at least — when they finally finish and Danta reminds him there’s more work to be done.

Groaning a quiet sound full of dramatics, the butcher tilts his head to peer over at his lover with a small crooked smile. “Yes. Lets.” He murmurs, swiftly paying for their meal before slipping out of the booth and extending his elbow for the Maverick to take, so that they can finish up the rest of the work before he can fully stretch his feirw legs.
