Still, he had to swallow down against the sudden lump of his heart in his throat, focusing instead on aiming Maea's second chakram.
Pinching it between thumb and forefinger, Liam lined up his shot. This time, with the beast's attention on Maea, his options were limited to what he could see of the creature, which was a large tail and bulky legs. It wasn't quite as good as hitting the Lial in the head, but perhaps he could disable it with a blow to a leg, so he aimed carefully at one of the creature's back ones and threw the chakram in a sharp, swift motion that sent it soaring towards the Lial's hip.
