There is a rumble, which becomes a roar, which becomes a whump in the flickering torchlight. The ROUS and their skittering have caused some of the stones to come loose from the tunnel that Emmett has taken shelter within. They come down hard, knocking the axe out of his hand and sending it sliding across the floor and into the mess of rodents and people. When the mini avalanche is finished, the side tunnel is completely sealed. And Emmett is gone. A rockslide has cut Emmett off from the group, and he is no longer participating in this PQ.
