VESPER
Vesper chuckles, the sound low and full of fondness, and nudges her shoulder with his own. "You'll never lack for options," he drawls, eyes flicking over the top of her head with that familiar gleam. Even without the open book of her mind, he’s already caught the ripple of want from a trio of passersby—two men, one woman—who’ve slowed their stroll just to admire the sunbeam incarnate twirling in gold. He nods subtly over her shoulder. "You’ve got half the market wondering if they should bow or propose," he murmurs, too amused to hide it.
As for her very charming, very stupid puppy? Vesper shrugs one shoulder, shifting the cloth draped over his arm so his hands are free. "Tell him to screw his damn head on right," he suggests, dry as ever. "Or better yet, buy him some of those blinders they use on horses that can't keep their focus. Might help." But then he tips his head, constellation freckles catching the amber light as his tone softens, just a notch. "Or, if you want...invite him to the bar. I’ll be your fly on the wall. That way, you get to hear what he says—" he taps lightly against his temple, "—and what he doesn’t."
Then he shifts again, clapping his hands once, slow and theatrical. "Bravo. 10/10, perfection. Truly, a crime against fashion if we leave any of that behind." He flashes a grin at the merchant, already pulling coin from his belt. "We’ll take the lot of it."
