Danger gleams like sunshine
It's hard to tell exactly what transpires (really, don't ask), but Zavien and Koa somehow liberate the cockatrice of the tower - or the other way around depending on how you look at it. Mirroring his friend, he runs a hand through his hair, catching his fingers on a feather that he lifts to glance at before casting aside like a bad omen. He'd prefer not to think about the gnarled claws and deafening screeches that would haunt his dreams tonight.
Instead, he grins at Koa, more than willing to put in the leg work. "You didn't think it'd be that easy, did you? This place looks like a haunted house that's been scheduled for demolition since we were in diapers." Zavien laughs even as he leads the way down the steps, already feeling like they've dispelled the spirits and cleared the way for the new inhabitants and their noble mission. So when he steps back out into the sunlight, it's with a bright smile and a beaming sense of accomplishment that he directs towards the girls.
