this is the reckoning
He snorted at the flash of teeth; incapable of doing so in return with the kills all protruding from his mouth, blood spilling over the snow, but better than an alternative, he supposed. He wouldn’t put it past her to be lunging and full of daggers of her own accord for any reason; the Sword was simply hard-pressed to do so unless someone wore over his fortitude and slammed into the emblazoned steel.

But he could sense the pride, and his ears flicked back and forth again, catching words and fragments, the comprehending nuances. I think she was…shocked, initially. She recovered well. Coming face to face with creatures that wanted nothing more than to annihilate one’s existence did have a certain gravitas – especially when woefully unprepared. And you are welcome. As he would’ve done so with mostly anyone – unless they were an enemy, or they purposefully irritated him. There were scores enough of those individuals around to leave them drifting amidst the corpses and predators, letting the world send them to an early grave.

But Theea hadn’t been that – perfectly willing to accept advice and swing her knife so that it struck true. I did offer her a spot in the guild if she wanted, in case her mother wasn’t aware – brow arching at the notion of the Accepted spending more of her time in the Citadel. Not many came to prowl and visit.

The admittance thereafter though would be something he’d also have to eventually get over on his own – when it came to Erebos or Amhran; perhaps some growing pains already discovered in Kiada. He hadn’t deigned to visit those feelings – too immersed in other semblances of the world shifting around them. Understandable. He wouldn’t pretend he did much the same, but his was a toddler and a Raeling grown from a plant. We do many things to ensure our loved ones are safe. He fought in wars and galvanized a region with weapons and defenses.

Wondering if Theea knew her mother was tracking her, he pondered over the inquiry rattling through his brain, but then figured it didn’t much matter; not his business. Instead, he offered an alternative, places to put wariness, brandished within vehemence and liberating outlets. Looking for something to do? Saw a flock of ningos nearby to harass.
