Vesper’s laugh rumbles low in his chest, a thread of amusement winding through it as her magic all but glitters in the air between them. "Wouldn’t surprise me if one day you learned how to up and vanish into a ball of glitter," he says, the words lazily drawn out, though his gaze never leaves the way the fire curls from her hands. The heat swells fast, washing toward him in a rush that makes the edges of his coat stir, the scent of scorched rose petals threading faintly through the air.
The moment it’s close enough to bite, he’s already gone, slipping between shadow and starlight in that blink-fast way that feels less like movement and more like a thought made real. The world folds, then unfolds again, and suddenly he’s standing just behind her, close enough to feel the faint residual warmth radiating off her jacket.
One hand comes up and dives unceremoniously into the teal-and-blonde chaos of her hair, fingers raking through with the calculated carelessness of someone who’s been perfecting the art of annoying his sublings. It’s an obnoxious tousle, deliberately mussing every part she might want left alone, his smirk audible even without looking.
