lately i've been leaning on what she swears is a feeling
At first she thinks it’s going to go very well - that she stands a chance at brushing off all the palm fronds with the broom in hand. And she even allows herself a moment to be proud as she gets into the groove. Of course, that’s the downfall, though. Because the second she turns to continue sweeping off the fronds, she catches motion in her peripheral. Turning toward it, she squints at the hel with a small sigh, originally content to leave it if it was just one.
But then another joins. And another. And it doesn’t seem to stop. But only when the hel lands on the end of her broom does Caly perk up and shake the broom handle to rid it of this particular avian, and with a slightly frustrated sigh, she hoists the broom like a little weapon to go and try to sweep or threaten the hels away from the rooftop. “Go on, y’fuckin’ sea chickens.” She hisses under her breath, wishing she did have a smaller shift to chase them off. That’d be way more fun.
