Striding over to where her basket waits, she crouches down and pulls the lid back with a dramatic flourish. Inside, neat layers of sugary, airy pastries are tucked alongside colourful fruit snacks and chilled bottles of sweet fruit drinks that glisten invitingly in the cave’s humid glow.
