charlie
Charlie lights up at his easy laughter, her fanged grin bright as a struck match. "Amazing! she gushes, as though he’s just signed a blood pact instead of tossed out a maybe. When he says she isn’t that small, her brows bounce high with sparkling incredulity. "You just saw me turn into a dragon the size of a house and that’s the part you can’t believe?"
Her laugh rings out warm and unbothered when he adds the caveat to owing her. She nods sagely, as though she’s heard that qualification more times than she can count. "Within reason," she echoes, like it’s a private joke they’ve just made together.
What might have sounded like an excuse from anyone else, she takes in stride, blue eyes gleaming with interest rather than disappointment. "If you’re ever up north, I could show you around the Temple in the Hollowed Grounds," she offers breezily. Then her expression brightens, excitement bubbling up as she claps her hands together. "Oooor! Have you ever been to the Climb? The hot springs there are AMAZING! I could teach you one of my favourite games." Her eyes widen, blue and mischievous, daring him to ask.
As he gathers his things and makes to leave, Charlie wiggles her fingers in a cheerful wave. "Bye, Kaisel!" she calls sing-song, tail flicking behind her in good spirits, utterly at ease as if they’ve known each other far longer than a single night.
