She'd been held back by a client, leaving her to arrive fashionably late to the party that was apparently already coming to a dramatic close. It was hard to figure out what had happened in the last few minutes, but she caught the words 'dragon' and 'Ludo' a few times amongst the panicked voices. There might have also been mention of a rose, but Elizabeth couldn't be sure if it was in reference to the magically gifted kind or if someone had sewn them into their costume. After all, people seemed to have been fairly liberal with their interpretation of Ludo's rags.
Adjusting her plain black robes and skirt, she fidgeted with the cotton mask sitting against her eyes so she could better assess the situation. It appeared that the physical damage had been limited to a single area, a couple of tables and chairs having been thrown from their places. People didn't look injured, but the fear on their faces couldn't have been faked. She imagined it wasn't a calming experience to be greeted by a herald and a deadly reptile in the same evening.
Planting a reassuring expression on her face, Elizabeth entered the fray to help calm the crowds.
