With the birds gone, silence descended between the pair, broken only by the gentle lap of waves upon sand. Questions swirled in Soh's mind, nearly eclipsing the tingling pain of her injuries - so much so that when Hadama offered to heal them, the young woman blinked with surprise. "Oh - yes, of course. Thank you."

Once they were healed, Soh cast her gaze out to the sea. Her gull friends had disappeared down the beach, but their brethren wheeled and soared out over the ocean, dipping periodically to nab something from the water. "Things have been strange between us," she commented at last. "I... thought we were friends. Are we still?"
