there's so much time for me to speak up, but i keep quiet
While Nova looks at their brother, Caly’s gaze sluggishly makes their way to him too. Full of fire and rage and deep set anger, even when he speaks about not knowing for sure that they were together. She can only assume so – something had to tip Jack over the scales. He’d been here long enough with Flora being single after him and it hadn’t sent him running then. But now something was different and for that Caly can only put two and two together if Kaisel was finding a place to live here, too.
“Alright.” She says with a puff of bitter, alcoholic air leaving her in the sigh that deflates her. Her arms move, subconsciously closing herself off as they cross along her chest, her gaze snapping up to Vesper with the glint of rings on his fingers as they vanish between moon-toned strands. “That’s relatable.” She mutters in terms of the warning of leaving Jack alone.
As for what they could do, though, she follows Vesper’s thought pattern, glancing back toward the room they have the keys for now. “I mean, we could do that. But we wouldn’t really be able t’stay after that? Pointin’ fingers ‘n all that.” Flora at least would know for a fact it was them that had done it.
And as for Kaisel? Hearing his name sends embers of fire burning through her, feeding into the rage again. “I bet I could invite him out t’talk if you guys wanna come ‘n be my hidden backup?” She asks, fingertips digging into her biceps as she looks between her sister and her brother, a smidge uncomfortable with the need to ask for help – even if the two standing in this room were the only ones that weren’t their mother that she’d ask. "Whatever happens after that..." She shrugs noncommittally.
