Still, he doesn't stop her, flexing his fingers against the cold and tilting his head at the bowl of fire before them. No longer under the influence of either of their magic, it settles into high, crackling flame, and the captain considers only for a moment before nodding.
"What's the worst could happen?" he drawls, ensuring the ground before them isn't slippery before he takes off to the Eye of Fire. Granted, Jack absolutely does cheat, using a pulse of power to part the flames as he picks up speed and leaps through, but it does curl around him menacingly for a moment, which he thinks puts on a good enough show. And it doesn't singe his clothes, so all the better. "A'right, now you," he says, gesturing for Nova to follow.
