"Perhaps I should plant some of Rae's Lilies there next year. Maybe it will encourage the place to settle, and in time it might grow to be like something from our world, instead of being so other." He imagines that might happen regardless as the seasons pass and they gain more distance from the Family and their time in Caido, but a little helping hand never hurt.
Wrapping his hands back around his cocoa, Amhran surprises himself with the enthusiasm with which he nods to Deimos, feeling more inclined than he ever has to visit the barracks and learn from those who train there. "I will," he promises. "Though I hope you won't think less of me if I decide to wait until it isn't quite so..." He gestures to the steady snowfall and truly bitter cold outside.
