As snow began to fall and turned the backs of the other contestants into blurry silhouettes, the pale Ancient shifted her weight forward in her sled, leaned down as far as she could to reduce wind resistance and fixed her gaze on the person just ahead. Recognising Thalassa, she gritted her teeth; if she could only beat her to the finish line, she'd call it a win.
Focusing on picking up her own speed seemed like the best option for the time being, and so she kicked off against the snow-white ground again and steered for tracks where the others had compacted the snow, to take advantage of the surface in her need for speed. Blinking against the snowflakes as they flurried around her, for a moment she lamented her loss of the ice magic that could have propelled her to a better lead - but then she shoved such emotions aside like the dead weight it was.
