Mateo
"Suit yourself. That is probably a good point," Mateo agrees with a knowing smile and a raise of his eyebrows. "Just let me know if you change your mind, and I am sure I will be able to cultivate something." If it isn't sitting/crawling about already, the botanist giving a cursory glance about his shop as if a walking palm might have come to say hello purely because they've been discussing it and its brethren.
Drawn back by Kaisel's soft oh and the way his hand extends towards him, it's with a furrowed brow that Mateo opens his palm (the one not cupping the hydrangeas) and watches the cheerful little gemstones tumble into it. "I do not think I have ever been called a matchmaker before," he says, a dimpled smile already sneaking onto his face. "Grazie mille, Kai. I will find a place for them to sit." Probably nestled in one of the plants near the cash register that aren't for sale, so they can socialise without fear of theft.
"You do not need to thank me for that, though. The plants did all of that themselves," he adds quietly as he approaches said register so he can carefully put the blooms into a container. "They are good listeners too, if ever you have something to say that you would struggle to tell a person."
With the other man's arm slung around his shoulders, he sets Greg and Amy down on the counter and produces a small box to slip the hydrangeas into, offering it out to Kaisel. The words that come next pluck a string in his chest he hasn't realised could still make music, and Mateo's smile grows wider. "Well, I am not going anywhere, and if I am not here in the shop, you will definitely find me somewhere in the Silk Houses," he says. "So do not be a stranger, yes?"
