"Gods—" he sputters, coughing out a laugh, blinking through a storm of pink and gold specks. "How do you always have so much of this?" He tries to shield himself with one arm, the other brushing uselessly at his collar where the shine has already settled like permanent sin.
Her threat lands bright and unmistakable in his mind—visions of drawers, closets, every shirt he owns transformed into a weapon of shimmer—and he groans dramatically, bending at the waist as if struck by a mortal blow. "Alright, alright! You win!" The laugh that follows is breathless, broken by another cough as he waves her back with mock surrender. "Glitter’s the best, happy?"
