Safrin
The rain doesn’t stop, not exactly.
It thins. Shifts. Refractures.
Above the plateau, where the clouds have churned all day, the downpour softens into a strange, impossible hush—water still falling, but transfigured. Each drop that nears the shrine halts mid-air, light blooming inside like a thousand tiny stars, held breathless in orbit around her. The scent of ozone and wet earth curls beneath it all, caught in the hush.
Safrin is simply there, made of glow and starlight and exquisite stillness. Her feet don’t touch the stone, her presence scattering the mist like startled moths. Jewels shimmer at her throat, constellations whisper along the edges of her silken gown, and her gaze—when it settles on Colt—is not unkind.
"Another rodeo?" she says, bemused, the lilt of amusement lifting her voice. Her smile deepens as she surveys the umbrella, the fur-lined coat, the drink. "My, my. You’ve certainly come prepared." She reaches for the glass with graceful fingers, her expression softening as she takes a sip. It leaves the faintest shimmer on her lips. "Mmm," she hums, approvingly. "Sweet. Sharp. Strong."
Her eyes flick upward to Colt’s, brilliant and unblinking. "If I recall, my children quite enjoyed themselves last year." There’s a glint of fond mischief there, though the curve of her mouth turns contemplative a breath later. "I wonder what this year will bring."
The glass hovers lightly in her hand as she turns to face Colt fully, light catching in the strands of her dark hair. Her tone shifts, faintly richer, more intent. "For a prize worthy of starlight and spectacle, you’ll need more than just metal and leather. If you truly want a buckle to outshine the rest.." She tilts her head, one brow arched. "Then here’s what you must do."
You rolled terribly twice, so the levelling reward was used!
Colt has been given a quest, she must
1. Capture some starlight! (interpretation up to you)
2. Capture some sunlight! (interpretation up to you, must be different than in 1)
3. Use light to blind/distract someone
4. Complete a training thread where her goal is to give her own disadvantage per round (kicking dust, being distracting, etc)
