One moment, Melita was content on the beach, parading around the bonfire, and in the next, she was suddenly swept away in the blink of an eye, to be sent towards the sea. Bewildered, staring into the darkness, she could hear Flora and Kaisel nearby, and the call, the command, and for half a second, she poised aloft on the waves, anklet dangling on her limb, ensuring she was along the surface, and excited.
This could be it. She could make a difference.
In a race, apparently, but nonetheless, her first big demigod moment, a little blaze of glory.
“I gotchu!” she hollered back, though she could really only hear hollering and splashing amidst the area – some lights, some raft. Uncertain about her aim, she shrugged, and given he didn’t specify anything beyond ensuring Flora was slowed down, the Honeybee unleashed her wild magic.
And promptly fell asleep, face first into the sea.
