Well, suffice to say, nothing has gone according to plan. Not the fun little skinnydip that has left him ravenous with need, not his first attempt to race her, not the rafts that from a distance seemed like they could hold them, and now not his genius plan to win a pointless race when he'd have the prize of Flora either way at the end.

He's grinning with premature triumph at her yelled, I gotchu!. It dissolves like cotton candy in water the instant she slumps over though, Flora's own wild concern racing equally through him. "I DUNNO!" he yells back to her, changing course to get closer to the shape slumped somewhere through the dark sea. "SHE HIT HERSELF ONCE WHEN WE SPARRED, SAID IT'S HER WILD MAGIC!" He's thinking maybe this is the same thing, but he can't say, because she's suspended above the water and motionless and he can't for the life of him understand what the fuck her abilities do.

So much for being rescued, he might be dragging her to shore now.

Closer to her, Kaisel reaches her first, and reaches up with a breathless puff for one of her dangling arms. "Mel!?" he asks, shaking her arm with drips of water coming off his hand, blue light glinting over her in his haste to reach her.
