Used to keep it cool, used to be a fool
She vanishes before he gets any sort of response or reassurance, but at least she's not in the open sea anymore. It's a meager relief, and he sighs, frustrated and worried and confused all at once. His hand slips back into the water as a wave swells and he sways to stay abreast of it with only his single arm.
He can hear the arrival of Flora with the splatter of water, urgent at first, then slowing, and stopping. He twists his head towards her as they shift and slide over the dark sea, electric breaks granting vision like a spare, staggering blink. He can't see all the streaking thoughts flickering over her face, but the mood shifted before the quiet drop of her question, it's softness only proof enough of the regret already pooling inside him, and suddenly the sea does feel rather cold.
"Well, yeah." Confusion ripples through him on the way she focuses on girl, rather than, why did you channel someone and almost drown them? Which, he did warn her, and didn't think she'd pass out over open water. "I'd have called Frey, but they can't answer. It's so dark I don't think anyone can see shit, but didn't want to try and explain that later to one of your dads."
