Sohalia
The rustle of the hedges was not, in fact, Flora; it was a random rabbit, which hopped out to scrutinize Soh's equine form before fleeing to the safety of its burrow. The Luminary snorted, the sound out of place in the quiet of the hedge maze, but before she could decide to take flight and find the Doubletake herself, a familiar voice lilted through the air. If Soh had been human, she'd have grinned; as it were, her large eyes danced with a special sort of mischief, an expression that only Flora had ever been able to draw out.
The queen rounded the corner and stopped short. At her tentative question, Soh nodded her head, stepping forward to gently touch her muzzle to Flora's hand. Her eyes were filled with mirth, and glee, and all things happy and free; for a moment, Soh was truly happy, joyful in a way that didn't come easily to her, these days.
Then, reluctantly, she shifted, her body reforming into a human figure. She was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet as she embraced her friend. "Hey you!" she whispered. Then, withdrawing just enough to hold Flora at arm's length, she added brightly, "It's so good to see you! How have you been? Tell me everything."
